There are different training programs in rehab centers that help numerous patients to recover from their medical condition. These training programs give importance to both the physical and mental well being of the patients. The doctors prescribe medicines to take care of the physical health of the patient and the psychologists provide the much needed emotional support to them. Together these two approaches help patients to recover at a faster rate.
The different types of training programs for patients are as follows:
Residential rehabilitation programs: In this type of program, the patients have to live in the facility to get treatment. Most of these programs are for patients of substance abuse and are voluntary. However, in some cases, the court may make it mandatory for some patients to go through this program. These programs can be quite expensive as compared to other treatments.
Outpatient rehabilitation programs: in this type of treatment in rehabilitation, the patients goes to the center for the treatment and returns home in the evening. These programs cost much less than residential programs and do not interfere with the daily routine of the patients. So you can go to work or attend school and take car of your family.
Halfway houses or sober living houses: These training programs are meant for those who have undergone a traditional rehab program meant for substance abuse. The patients have a lot of freedom in this program because they are allowed to attend work or school, but after that they have to come back to these rehab centers.
Physical therapy: Many people suffer from weakness or injury of muscles and bones, which restricts their movement and also comes in way of their ADL. This can also be owing to illness like stroke, arthritis or strain. The therapists help such patients to exercise their body in such a manner that help them make optimum use of their affected part in the long run.
Occupational rehabilitation programs: These therapists help people develop their cognitive and motor skills which might have been impaired after an injury or an illness like stroke, brain injury, strain etc. The therapists enable people to lead a normal live and get back to their work. They work with kids and adults to provide a better living.
Speech programs: Many centers for rehabilitation provide this training to people who have problem with speech because of an injury or an illness. The problem can be present at birth or can develop later.
Thus, the various kinds of treatment centers for rehabilitation cater to the various complex problems faced by people. The rehab programs help them to recover faster and live a healthy life.
Substance abuse treatment for juveniles helps them reorganize their lives and choose a better life. According to a report by National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (NCASA) four out of every five children or teen arrested under state juvenile justice system are found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while committing the crime or admit having addiction problems and substance abuse. Such minors need proper guidance and counseling so that they can save their lives from going to the shambles.
Many juvenile rehabilitation centers provide substance abuse services that endeavors to make better adults out of such juveniles. The minors differ from each other on the basis of the addiction they have or the offense they have committed. Those who have a serious case of substance abuse or who are violent are kept separate from the ones who fall under mild category. Addiction rehabilitation facilities provide correctional treatment options like, detoxification, individual as well as group counseling, drug and alcohol education program, pharmaceutical treatment and self help. Youths are also required to undergo screening for substance abuse problems, mental health evaluations and drug testing. As per the outcome of such testing, the juvenile is monitored and his progress recorded. As the need may be some youth are given special care and kept under observation and paid detailed attention. However, in case of minors who are at higher risk of re-offending or absconding from detention are kept under intensive supervision program which includes increased monitoring and regular contacts with supervision officers.
The juvenile rehabilitation center may extend detention or stay of the youths who as per their progress are found to be yet not recovered from their past addiction abuse. Hence, they may require from a few months to a few years till they are physically and emotionally fit enough to go back to the society they belong to and play a productive role. However, those showing better progress than the rest may be allowed to leave the juvenile rehabilitation center to lead a normal, healthy and responsible life.
